Blooming paloverde

This is the tree just north of the road as you enter the wash.

I saw a hawk or eagle sitting on top of a tree. Reddish brown head and neck, extending down the breast, dark face, mottled brown wings with streaks of white. I can’t identify it from the bird book.

Also a Costa’s hummingbird, showing its beautiful purple gorge.
